We wish to present
to you Proceedings from the Inter-Agency Grantees Conference on
Metabolic Engineering held at the National Science Foundationon June
28, 2001.
This
Conference consisted of presentations by all Grantees from the first
two competitions held by the Inter-Agnency Working Group on Metabolic
Engineering (MEWG).There was also a brief discussion of "in vitro
Metabolic Engineering". The electronic version of this report, which is

has abstract and
slide information from each of the Grantee presentations.
It is
anticipated that there will be another Inter-Agency Grantees Conference
in the Fall of 2002 similar to the one presented here. For current
